Oh!
Nice 3/4 view, and the way you laid out the back ground, with the white framing, and then highlighting Maron in white as well comes across quite neat.
Also deeply red and yellow pallet makes your use of blue really pop, and that working with the sun set and the way you played with light and shadow is all quite sharp.
Thank you for making this.

no thank YOU for such a detailed analysis of my art!!!!!!!!!!! I'm happy you like it .

I suppose this image would have a different tone at the meat counter.
I like your background work in this one, the details help breath life into it, and the lighting is neat.
Do you have fixed layout out of the bar your work from for reference or do you make over with similar themes every time?
Thank you for making this.

ScotchMints responds:

thank u, i don't have a set layout but yeah it's roughly based on a bar i worked at

Neat
I like uniform(?) designs, or at least the uniformity of color in their designs.
Also I appreciate the little chibi rendition reminds me of a mix of your style with rayman and the in puzzle metronome minis in helltaker.
If you would like, could you explain if there is any purpose for the different insignia on the headbands? (like rank, position, or species?)
Thank you for making this.

Frosty responds:

the headbands had no meaning when i was making them but they could be interpreted as a class maybe?

Alot said in the quiet.
I think this is some great panel layout in theses pieces, and if I was to read them as a comic, it is impressive how much they convey without words.
You work with light and shadow against their faces is also quire nice, especially the very subtle difference in the tones from left to right of face in focus of the second panel.
There is the is really great silent comic coming out right now, titled "Step by Bloody Step," and while that might sound far to edgy it is really something you might find interesting with how much it has to show not tell.
Thank you for making this.

chromiollies responds:

Thank YOU for the nice words. I'll definitely consider checking the comic out!

makes me smile.
The Bioluminescent tones of her cap and her generally bright demeanor makes her a quite charming character.
I like the almost animal crossing lay of out of her face, as it helps with pixelated video game feel, but also seems to fit in a bright magical girl story.
Final thoughts, the fed coat is a great focal point, and contrast to the rest of the pallet, super neat.
Thank you for making this.

sugarofcube responds:

aw thank you for the compliments! (:

Well that will be an awkward holiday dinner.
I like the panel-less layout of the strip, it makes good use of the back and forth in the conversations.
Thank you for making this.

EarthRabbitDraws responds:

For sure haha.
Thank you! Glad you like this. <3

I always appreciate some good draft sketches.
Having already talked about the design, I wanted mention it might be funny/cute if the character had a some silver in her coloration as a highlight, because "every cloud has a silver lining."
Also it's neat seeing how you developed the hair.
Thank you for making this,

EarthRabbitDraws responds:

Thank you for your lovely comment! Aw, a silver color sounds nice, I wish I had thought of it sooner. She does have a bit of silver on her audios, although that may not be quite noticeable at first glance.
I'm glad to know you enjoyed it. :)

the calm before the storm, the tension in the air, a comfort before a crash.
I really like the two panel narrative you set up here, of something so large and undeniable, and how you sometimes can only face it.
I also think the cascading and layered grays in the first panel are a great juxtaposition of the really tight focus and high contrast of the second.
Thank you for making this.

OneGrumpyLumpy responds:

Thank you! It's for a comic

Fun!
This might sound odd, but I like the fact the characters remind me a bit of Korra and Asami from Avatar, but also that the armor is similar to how 80's anime would render western fantasy armor, like record of lotus war/slayers.
Also I think the flater colors with points of shaded definition works quite well, and is nicely stylish.
Thank you for making this!

BluMiu responds:

Thank you and I appreciate it! I'm glad you noticed that Korra color scheme to because I saw it right away when I was playing with the colors to see what worked best with Aleyamehu's skin tone.

I like how you described that, as that's a bit more in-depth than my going as far as the RoLW aesthetic. For that arc, I suppose, of the story I get those retro fantasy anime vibes and went with simpler designs. There's a bit of Nausica in there too, though was that late 70s or early 80s?

Not sure I understand the context but i got a chuckle.
Also the "flower" design is fun, and i like the love you put into the dandelion leaves, as they are quite authentic.
Thank you for making this.

Conqueror is a character from my webcomic, and it's his head
