heh.
I appreciate the ps1 vibes, and the period accurate "bowling alley" stile gif of the pizza being made.
I was a little confused about why there was soda in the freezer, but the character also seemed surprised by that.
The sound design was alot of fun.
Thank you for making this.

thank you for the comment! (:
she puts the soda in the freezer because she likes having it thaw out and turn into a slushie!
(she doesn't know that cans explode in the freezer, but she will find out very soon)

Nice work!
I liked your sound design, and I think you where really efficient in how you introduced the characters and told the joke, and it certainly had a good punch line.
Hope you keep at it, and;
Thank you for making this.

Katmew responds:

Thank you so much!

I like this alot.
I have a small criticism for the sound design which is you put alot of detail into showing the force of the Bullet Bill but the catching noise was pretty soft, which does show mario's stength, but also makes it seem too easy/less impressive.
What I might suggest, to have as little change in terms of animation as possible, is at 5 second mark when Mario catches Bill by the nose during the cut to black/whiteimpact, is use a rubble or rock shattering sound, and then have mario be unscathed, but all the force was transferred onto the brick that her is standing on leaving him in an impact crater holding bill.
It helps play on the expectations, and demonstrate mario's stength in a way I think would be more impactful to an audience.
Other wise I really like the way you drew bill and mario, especially with Bill's frustration at having been caught, and the cannon really showed great motion.
Thank you for making this.

tyvm for the feedback!!!

Wow.
Incredible work on this piece.
It reminds me in some way of Persepolis or the Snowman (briggs) in how you put such loving detail into every moment.
Also you work on the sound design, was very choice, and reminded me a bit of Ghibli film or Pan's labarinth, the slightly mystical nature and female lead help with that impression as well.
Overall the story you told about coming of age, one's body, and violence was done is a way that was clear, but still new to me, and the use of the smoke and deerskin as aura's and abstractions, was quite beautiful.
Also, as a note, welcome to Newground.
Thank you for making this.

Thank you so so much for the kind words! Del Toro and the way he used magic realism in Pan's Labyrinth and The Devils Backbone were both big inspirations in terms of storytelling for me so I'm glad you got that impression.
Also, glad to be on Newgrounds! The last time I was on here I played games as a kid but I didn't know it had an art community. As much as Instagram is a helpful platform it's kinda toxic and I want to make my work more widespread and accessible in art communities outside of the 'fancy corporate' areas.

heh.
I have really appreciated y'all's work over the years, so thank you for continuing to make me smile.
Thank you for making this.

glad you enjoyed it!

This is oddly cute.
When they where attempting to create the industrial sewing machine, there where several attempts to construct mechanisms similar to hands to make the process work, and when the actual basis of mechanism that many machines still use to sew was invented, many people refused to believe it functioned.
I also so like the idea of a newly corporealized AI doing knitting to practice fine motor skills.
It's fittingly human.
Thank you for making this.

Ajokolo responds:

Appreciate it. Nice interpretation too!

"Trapdoor spider"? Interesting.
So first and foremost I liked it; I did find it a little chaotic, but it think it is wise to label it as experimental with the tone and abstraction you went with.
I think it's a a solid piece of abstract art, at s it seems ever so coyly hint at meaning in it's chaos, and it like the fact the music and some of the effects simultaneous had a buggy/glitchy vibes.
I will say you need to slap a seizure warning on this ASAP because the Porygon episode that almost killed pokemon in the 90s had a slower color change cycle than this, so there is a present threat to you viewership in that.
Also, for music resources check out this great page in the NG wiki about stuff available here:
https://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/creator-resources/music-and-audio-resources/royalty-free-music
But over all it's an nice frantic, and fun, loop.
Thank you for making this.

Nebulilac responds:

Thankyou very much!! I will definetely slap a seizure warning on there, i appreciate you letting me know.
I was trying very hard to match the tone of the song, so im glad it seemed to turn out that way :] Your critique is very helpful!! And ill take a look at that link, thankyou!

Hmm pretty solid.
You gotta lot of attitude and personality across in a fairly quick punch, and over all it's a solid piece of work.
Some notes, maybe if possible have the pov start in her shadow as in could convey further malice/intensity to have her profile palatially in shadow, if that is the tone you are going for.
Also, I like what you where able to do with her transition in emotional tone, from fright to flirt but I think a few in between frames of the emotions transitioning, or just momentary reflection before flirt could add a lot of depth.
You certainly do capture a a transition of fierce, curious, and flirt, but maybe just a little more.
Thank you for making this.

ChuchoZepa responds:

Thank you very much!! for your opinions, I will take into account those transitions you speak of
